Doll project

Inspired by an article in Cloth, Paper, Scissors by Lisa Kaus http://lisakaus.blogspot.com/ I started using my recently acquired doll parts and started making dolls using wooden blocks. Lisa's post on her blog of July 10, 2008 has some pictures of her dolls. I just love them. Here are some more pictures http://www.lisakaus.com/artdollies.htm

I have some more heads, legs and arms on the way. I'll post pictures of the completed dolls. I used some polymer clay to make necks for the dolls.

Artist of the Month

My husband is the feature artist of the month for November and is showing his photographs at the Griffin Bookshop and coffee bar http://thegriffinbookshopcoffeebar.com/. On first Friday we had lots of good food, friends and music. Thanks to all who stopped by.

Flannel sheets and cats

I put flannel sheets on the guest bed today just in time for my first guests to try them out.

More doll parts

My box of doll parts arrived. I have arms, heads, bodies, torsos and a few legs. I also bought some bird heads from the same dealer on eBay. Try to picture a bird head on one of the headless bodies. I used two of the dolls in the niche of my altered book.

Altered book pages

I am working in my own book this time. The theme is Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. I've done spreads on Earth and Water so the spreads I did this time were on Fire and Wind. There is no doubt about the fire but the wind I'm not so sure of. We also had a special class on niches. My niche has a water theme. We have one more class. It's been an interesting class - just about every life event you can think of has happened to one or more of us.
